BLOG & FILM TIMES – Fri 28 June until Thurs 4 July

Goooood afternoon!

Wow – we were packed out over the weekend for the advanced screenings of Despicable Me 2 (sold out every showing…). But fear not! It’s back with us from Friday, showing in 2D and 3D every day. Not seen Man of Steel yet? Not to worry, we’ve still got it from Friday aswell! New films this week – This is the End a comedy from Seth Rogen, which follows six friends trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles.  We’ve also got advanced screenings on Wednesday and Thursday of Now You See Me, a suspense/thriller, which sees the world’s greatest illusionists known as “The Four Horsemen” pull off a series of daring heists against corrupt business leaders. Let’s not forget – we’ve also got advanced screenings on Wednesday and Thursday of the new Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn comedy The Internship. The two play salesmen whose careers have been torpedoed by the digital world. Trying to prove they are not obsolete, they defy the odds by talking their way into a coveted internship at Google. The film also stars Will Ferrell and John Goodman.

Also, we’ve got the thriller Confine, showing Mon to Thurs at 2.20.

Don’t forget, by kind permission of Disney Pictures UK and Mr Adam Cunard (Managing Director of Picturedrome Electric Theatre Co.), we’re hosting a charity performance of Monsters University on Saturday 20th July at 8pm – tickets are available when the box office is open, priced at £3.50 each. Prizes for best fancy dress. All proceeds to West Dorset Women’s Refuge.

The Wolverine, anyone? We’re showing this from release date Friday 26th July, in 2D and 3D – you can book your tickets online now! Visit http://www.plazadorchester.com/showing/next

That’s about it for now! Happy cinema going!

BLOG & FILM TIMES Fri 31 May until Thurs 6 June

Hi all!

It’s been an extremely busy week with sell-outs all over the show, Epic proving very popular this week, and most showings of The Great Gatsby also selling out all week. Needless to say, both are back with us this week! The Big Wedding starts its full run with us this week, showing every day in Screen 4 downstairs, comedy fans are in for a treat this week with this plus The Hangover: Part 3 is still showing! Both of these, plus brand new with us this week The Purge – are all rated 15 – meaning noone under the age of 15 can watch the film, so we will be asking for I.D. (parental consent is not a valid form of I.D.), so please ensure to bring I.D. along if you look under 18 to avoid disappointment!

The Amityville Asylum is a horror directed by Andrew Jones, showing Monday to Thursday at 4.15 in Screen 4, for those of you who like a late afternoon scare… And on a different note, All Stars has been proving very popular over the last few days, and we’ve got it on at 1.30pm on Fri, Sat and Sun in case you’ve missed it this week! Last but not least, for those who like fast cars and lots of action – Fast & Furious 6 stays with us this week too!

Starting in 2 weeks is MAN OF STEEL – which you can book tickets for now at www.plazadorchester.com/showing/next in 3D and 2D from June 14th.

A week packed with family film, horrror, action and comedy! Something for everyone plus our live operas and theatre this week! Enjoy the show! – Dan (Plaza Staff)
